It feels like time goes so much faster in the summer even though the days are longer and the pace is slower. It’s been a busy time for us. The usual lull of the summer real estate market seems to have skipped us completely this year. We have been staging some fabulous homes with bright and beautiful summer flare.

This is a great time of year to enjoy festivals, food and fun. We are so fortunate to have so many options right in our own backyard. For those of us living in the east end of the city we could literally be doing something fun every single day until the summer ends.

Our team has been enjoying the best of what the city has to offer and some of us have managed to squeeze in some time to travel for both work and play.

It’s the best time of year to stroll through a market, an open house or an outdoor fair. The colours, smells and textures of the markets at this time of year are unmatched. There is such a huge variety of amazing produce at the farmers’ markets. August signals the first corn of the season; one of my favourite foods and so many ways to enjoy it. My personal favourite is chilli lime grilled in the husk.

Also check out the local artists at the markets and fairs, I love to pick up pretty pottery bowls to house the fresh fruit and vegetables. It’s a great way to brighten your table, or a lovely gift for the host of your next neighbourhood barbecue.
