We’d like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s Light Up The Beach a success! All proceeds raised at the event went to Michael Garron Hospital in support of their mental health and addiction services. The evening was hosted by Toronto City Council Member Brad Bradford and speeches were made by Rima Berns-McGown (MPP for Beaches East York), Rochelle DeClute, Sarah Downey (President and CEO of Michael Garron Hospital) and last but not least, Santa Claus!

Thanks to David’s Tea for providing hot drinks, Velouté Bistro who provided delicious gourmet soup and The Band and Choir of Malvern Collegiate who entertained the crowd on the boardwalk.

We’d also like to thank the Royal Bank Beaches Branch, Ashbridge’s Bay Yacht Club, Wright Sisters Group and Meridian Credit Union The Beach Branch for their support of Michael Garron Hospital.

This holiday season, consider visiting many businesses along Queen Street East who are supporting Light Up The Beach and the Michael Garron Hospital through various initiatives:

Afterglow Studio: donate in studio
Isabella’s Boutique Restaurant
Nando’s Beaches: donate in restaurant for a free mini-sauce bottle
The Sweet Oven: donate in store
Toronto Popcorn Company, Beaches location: $1 from the sale of every bag of Kettle Corn, Movie Style and Cinnamon Toast popcorn (Until Dec. 24)

The lights are down in early Feburary, but donations for mental health and addiction programs are still being accepted here.
