Are you curious about the patios that have popped up along Queen Street? We love this initiative by the City of Toronto, called CaféTO. The city has eased zoning restrictions on outdoor patios while allowing for expanded patios on private property, including parking areas. The CaféTO program aims to provide more outdoor dining areas to help some restaurants and bars create physical distancing for patrons on patios during the summer months.

The Beach BIA jumped on board quickly to support the program. They offered all businesses the opportunity to support our neighbours and sponsor a patio and both the Wright Sisters and DeClute Real Estate accepted. We are thrilled to have the chance to provide multiple sponsorships for a number of patios in the Beach, from the Remarkable Bean all the way to the Stone Lion. Our sponsorship helps the BIA and the city to provide some planters and some pylons to section off a laneway that will allow for additional outdoor dining. Look out for our umbrellas across Queen Street!

We invite you to visit the patios that we are sponsoring and supporting. Our BIA is also running a contest to choose the favourite patio. We encourage you to visit The Stone Lion and The Beacher Cafe, our sponsored patios, and cast your vote on the BIA’s website. Voting closes on August 21st–don’t delay!
